Had a quick search to no avail.

 

Does anyone know if a period Group N spec XU9J4 would have had a baffled sump? I suspect it would have been within the rules to do so?

Are there any reference resources out there?

There exists a very rare, factory XU9J4 baffled sump. JeffR on here has one. They were fitted to Bathurst 12Hr 405 and BX in the early '90's.

Did you see that Group N 405 advertised for sale recently?

It's a Ph1, but built for a team of New Zealanders to do the 1996 24hrs at the Nürburgring.

 

I'm trying to verify it's history. The current owner (since 1998) is being very helpful but information from that time is not readily available.
