Genuine Headlamp Style -Which One?

Hi,

 

i saw that there is two types of the outter headlamp case

 

this one (with the ribbon on the top)

and this one (with the lip on the top)

 

​

 

which one is the correct one for 1.6 GTI 1992 ?

which one is better design (i think the second one is better becasue it blocks some of the water front getting in and guiding them down) ?

I've only come across the top type headlight and mine is a ph2

top ones are the later type, unsure when they were introduced but they are the better type.

My 1996 205 is fitted with the headlamp in the second picture.

My phase 1.5 has the top type.

Can't say I've even seen the bottom one before, just variations of the top one.
