Gti6/s16 Inlet Manifold Gasket

Hi all,

 

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me out. It turns out that Peugeot have discontinued the inlet manifold gasket for a xu10j4rs and i cant find one for love nor money at the motor factors! Spoox are selling some genuine ones for nearly 25 quid(!!!) which, bearing in mind they were about a fiver from pug before they stopped them, is a bit steep.

 

Will a s16 inlet manifold gasket fit the gti6 head? From pics/diagrams i can find, it looks the the ports are the same, but there are a couple of extra holes at each end. I don't think these will be a problem but i thought id check, maybe someone has both and they could have a look?

Both Mi16 and S16 ones should fit.

 

I also just noticed that these were discontinued. Bought a couple of S16 ones. Can't understand why the RS ones are NFP and not the older S16 ones though,

Spoke to peugeot today reference a s16 gasket and they couldn't get me one until the end of the month but there are plenty available on ebay.

Even the Mi16 ones fit, Most motorfactors sell them as well

The 1.9 mi16 ones have the dowels in a different place so some modification is required. Although the last ones i bought from Peugeot were wrong in that the dowel holes were a few mm out of position causing the gasket to partially obstruct the port, so a little modification was required there also.

 

I've used gti6 on an mi16 and vice versa without much trouble.

Think I might have a few somewhere, iirc I had to buy 5. Also have throttle gaskets i'm sure.

AFAIK the gti6 head / inlet don't have any dowels at all, hence dowel holes in the Mi16/S16 gaskets will not be a problem.

indeed they don't, they use two studs on the top row for location, the 2.0 Mi16 dowel is in a different location to 1.9, but any gasket i've had has had a slotted dowel hole and relied on the bolts.
