Cup Holders For 1988 205 Gr (That Don't Suck!)

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck finding a good cup holder from any other model car that will fit into an older 205 (mine is 1988 GR 1.4). I'm comfortably with anything up to a moderate level of drilling and/or fiddling as long as it looks neat in the end. I don't want some cheap, tacky, plastic clip on type that slips over the air grills or anything...

 

I am looking for something solid, integrates well with original interior, and doesn't get in the way of regular operation of vehicle.

 

 

 

Any interior guru's out there? I've tried for so long but failed.

I'd look into some of the solutions for Lotus Elises and Exiges, some of their owners seem to be obsessed with adding cup holders.

VW polo 6n2 have the tidiest most compact cup holder ever, fully self contained, you just need to cut out a rectangle

I've had an Audi cup holder on my ebay watch list for years with the idea of this, sadly holding beverages has fallen way down my list of priorities.

 

In the meantime, i use a old shoe in the footwell on the GTI but i've discovered that on 5door models, the space between the front seats and the b pillar holds a cup rather nicely.

I have a mk4 golf/bora rear cup holder at home to try and do something similar to this for a while. Never got round to it. Bonus is it holds two cups.
