What Size Cylinders For Bias Pedal Box

Recommended Posts

ftoomsh

I am in the process of fitting a bias pedal box to my 205 mi16 tarmac rallycar.

What size master cylinders should I use for the front and rear??

I am running 306 gti6 front calipers and standard 205 1.9 gti rears.

Thanks

To a certain degree it's down to what you use it for, suspension setup and how much rear bias you like.

0.625 front and 0.75 rear is probably a good start. Build it, test it and find where you like it. Then see where the balance bar is sitting. Ideally it should be near the middle. If not then change cylinders as appropriate - if it's well over to one side, that side needs to be smaller.

Also I'd recommend genuine Girling cylinders (or AP if you need the short ones).

Thanks biggles. I was thinking of a .7 front and a .75 rear. But will go with your recommendation of .625 front.

I would only use girling or ap cylinders..
