Any Standard & Modified Multi Car Insurance Specialists?

Recommended Posts

artois7

Been quoted £700 to renew on my BMW this year (ouch) so I'm wondering if there are any of the performance insurance companies that might be interested in doing a multi car with my BMW and my mi16 205? Has anyone got any experience of this?

The traditional multi car companies won't touch an engine swap. I can see Sky used to advertise about multi car but I'm not sure they still cover it. Will phone them tomorrow.

Hi,

Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you like. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.

Regards,

Dan.

21 years old - 3 years no claims.

BMW 318i SE 5 door - been quoted £700 fully comp

Mi16 converted 205 GTI - been quoted £650 on a modified policy with 3k mileage

Standard 1.6 205 GTI - get rough quotes around £550

In your opinion, is it worth me phoning to try and get a quote? If so, I'll call in Thursday.

Try a-plan thatcham, I have 3 cars with them and they're very competitive on all of them. One is a supercharged 205 (£250ish premium).

I have four insured (three modified) with RH Insurance - not multi car policy, just VERY cheap.

They do like stuff to be garaged though, and can be a bit adrift on dailies compared to the big boys, but have been unbeatable on the interesting stuff for me.

Good luck with Flux..

Hi,

I think it's certainly worth giving a try on all your vehicles. Obviously I can't say at this stage if we will be competitive but we'd certainly do our best to try and help.

Regards,

Dan.

Nothing wrong with your prices 'Dan', you were cheaper on my Golf by a few percent, but recent reviews of your service and conduct leave a lot to be desired, and is the main reason I went elsewhere.

Suggest the OP does his own research though, of course..

Ok no worries.

We are constantly working on our customer service but I will forward your comments on to our customer service manager for his thoughts though.

Well I've just spent 20 minutes on hold to RH insurance and can't get through to them <_<

Will phone through to Flux for a quote anyway..

Perseverance is the key! And, whilst I'm sure AF have many satisfied Customers, make sure your quote is watertight before handing over any money.

Also, have a Google for recent threads on other popular forums (Retro Rides, Rods'n'Sods to name but two) to satisfy your own mind.

Anyway, that's enough from me on this one - sounding like I've got an axe to grind !!

Keep us informed

I've had problems with Adrian Flux and as a result I'd certainly suggest do your research before going in that direction.

I'm sorted for this year but would be interested if you find a multi car policy that is suitable.

Unfortunately RH insurance won't cover under 25s.

A Plan shut at 5PM so I can't phone them in the evenings.

Flux have come back with £850 on the BMW, £633 on the mi16 and ... bizarrely... £737 for my standard 1.6 GTI on a classic policy.

The mi16 is reasonably competitive.
