Oil Leak - Oil Sender/pressure Gauage Identification

Recommended Posts

CaptainP

Hi all,

The CTI has developed quite a nasty oil leak when running. I suspect the leak is coming from the sensor on the left in the picture with the orange wire coming from it. Can anyone help me out as to whether this is a oil pressure switch, sender unit or temperature gauge and where the cheapest place would be for a replacement.

Many thanks

Steve

Oil pressure switch that one which turns the warning light on. Easily available from any decent motor factor.

Put a new copper washer on with your choice of replacement.

If you want OE I keep them but cheaper aftermarket

Cheers for the replies guys, I'm guessing replacements don't come with a new washer then?

Some aftermarket ones may do, OE doesn't

Flat copper washers can be annealed and reused. Heat red hot then allow to cool in air. They go soft again so will seal again.
