Remove The Brake Drums

Hi,

 

i want to check the condition of my rear brakes and to do that i need to remove the drums.

can i remove the drum without removing the axle nut or that i have to remove it? what holding it in place?

no, the hub nut must be removed, and the handbrake cable slackened off if there is any tension in them.

another question :

how can i know which brand of rear brakes i have (girling , lucas) ?

is there's any way to know it without opening the drums?

gti will be girling/lucas (same thing) not bendix
