Jobs To Do Whilst Engine Is Removed?

Recommended Posts

bobdylan_55

Hi again

Can anybody think of any obvious jobs that should be done to the chassis / suspension etc whilst the engine is removed? Anything that is a pain to do when the engine is in and is likely to be worn or close to failure on a resaonably high mileage 309.

So far I have;

-Checked arb bushes - look to be pretty decent genuine peugeot items so refitted them.

- wishbones both replaced

- drop links replaced

-track rod ends replaced

- cleaned any rust patches back to the metal, welded any holes up, primed and painted entire engine bay

- replaced engine mounts all round

- driveshafts are both less than 100 miles old

I am unsure about are the steering rack and/or inner tie rods? Anything else that easier to do with engine out?

Inspect the solid brake pipes that run to the front brakes, these go rotten where they pass through the inner wings, much easier to do a neat job of replacing whilst the engine isn't there. Also master cylinder maybe worth considering too.

Sorry should probably point out the brake servo is gone and replaced with pedal box and new brake lines all around.

What about the fuel lines?

Thanks
