Silverstone Slicks?

Recommended Posts

rallyeash

Morning all...

I'll need another set of tyres on the 205 soon, I run Dunlops DZ03's /R888's at the moment and I'm pleased with the Dunlops however I'm keen to give slicks a bash.

What's peoples thoughts on the Silverstone slicks? Or any other slick tyre for that matter.

Im already dry sump so no problems with oil surge..

Second hand Michelin slicks from Ginettas are what I use, I can't justify buying new just to mess about doing trackdays. Just treat them with caution, they definitely need a lap or so to warm up, go hard on them from cold and you will have problems.

Where do you source them Tom?

Do you find they still have decent life left in them?

Ginetta ones have about gone again now, they've been back on Michelin pilots for the last couple of years.

You also need to be running 550-600lb springs on the front.

I have a set of ginnetta Michelin slicks I got off a user on here but I'm going down a different route, they are on smr's. Pm me if your wanting them as I could do with freeing up the cash for other parts I need.
