Strengthening

Recommended Posts

I have my car down to basically a bare shell to repair a few spots of rust that was hidden by the fuel tank and beam. Plus doing a re-spray after my ex damaged my paint and was basically thinking, should I add any strengthening to any areas of the chassis while it's getting put back to bare metal. I know the servo and strut tops are common places but I have some 1.2mm and 1.5mm galvanised plate in the garage that I could weld in.

Any recommendations where is best and anyone got any pics of 205's that have been done before?

Cheers

you need more like 3-5mm plates not 1.2mm!

however, is it going to be a circuit race car or rally car?

Sorry was going to explain this in the first post but forgot, at the minute plans are to make it a weekend blast car as I'm short on funds and time (with having full sole custody of my daughters) to go racing so I'm basically doing the best I can with the shell now so if/when I decide to start preparing for racing It won't need a major strip down. I will be looking at circuit racing most probably or motor cross as my mates dad has his own team.

Basically my thinking is to future proof it so I dont have to do a complete strip down like I am now
