Vts Rack Boot Removal

Hello All,

 

I've done some searching but can't seem to find an answer to this one.

 

I'm hoping to replace the steering rack boots on my VTS Rack as they're both split. I can't get the inner boot off due to the ram post/fixing point. Do I have to disassemble the rack to remove and refit this or is it possible to stretch the new one over the top?

With careful coaxing and some lube the new one will go over. :-)

I "THINK" but can't 100% remember I did something like putting a teaspoon over the stud for the ram to stop it ripping the boot...
