only need the bottom half of the quarter panel to replace the rust where the rear wheel sits, can these not be fabricated or basically made to fit with just some steel panel?

I'm in a similar position...one of my rear sills is completely rusted through.

You can have something fabricated in but it takes a lot of work...I got quoted £600 ex vat. The guy that did the quote is very good and so the price is fairly high.

To be honest, I think I'm going to try and get either an aftermarket part or a cut from another shell welded in and then painted.

The sills I can get hold of, can't work out why they need the whole rear quarter just for the bottom section under the trim, the door panels are fine, it's just the panel that has a slight curve going back to the arch, it's basically just a flat piece of metal that needs to be cut and welded in.

Seems a waste of the whole rear quarter just to use about 15% of the panel.

I had the same repair done on my car recently. My body shop used the end of some pattern sills and made the bit above themselves. I don't think its necessary to butcher a rear quarter for a flat piece of metal.

Where can you get the sills from? Only seen one place (can't find it now though) but it was for the full length of the car.

Looking now but they only have front wings and front panels. Don't think I've ever seen rear quarters or sills there?

Very true! As long as the dimensions are correct and the steel is the correct thickness and zinc coated it should be fine.

Do you know if they do the internal sill/crossmembers as well? I found that mine is rot right the way through the jacking point :(

Doubt you'll get zinc coated.

Just get a zinc rattle can after welding, all helps to keep the tin worm at bay

Yeah, if that's the case I'll probably strip back to metal and use a zinc coat...was planning on having that done to the welds anyway.
