Running Slightly Hotter Than Normal

Recommended Posts

Just a quick check, out in the 205 tonight (16v charged engine) seemed to be running hotter than normal, oil temp ok but water temp high, also no hot air from the heater, would this be a failed thermostat?

air lock from a leak if there's no heat from the heaters, or possibly failed thermostat leading to all the coolant being evacuated from the expansion tank.

Personally I would go for fan issues first, failing temp switch possibly coming in later than usual or the cooling fan itself either not running on the 2nd speed which is quite common or simply not running at full speed due to it being worn or seizing.

Cheers WP, had checked for leaks all okay and water where it should be, as I thought it was air lock at first, switched the thermostat and tested, all good now with back to normal engine water temp.
