Cheapest Option To Buy Arch Clips And Bumper Fixing Kit

Recommended Posts

Rik

Not been on here for year! I've done a search and know which items I need but before I cost at Peugeot the bits I require I thought I might ask.

Where is the cheapest alternative to buy the following (eBay or local dealer)

Front arch fitting kit (all fixtures/clips for fitting both front arch trims

Front bumper fitting kit - will need everything as bolts have sheared off both sides

Thanks in advance

You can buy a complete kit for the bumper/trim, except it doesnt come with the rubber slider/buffer things.

Arches, you'll just need to buy everthing you need separately..... And at Pugs minimum orders i'm afraid.

Wurth (or me) do all the arch clips, much better than the original stuff too with the silly clip on the back, Group buy section on here do the bolts, the only thing which is unique (At the moment) are the clips which hold the red insert on the front trims

Unique but possibly unnecessary. I've found that the normal round headed fir tree clips work the same, though manufacturing tolerances on the red strips may mean they fit looser for some people. Also see no reason why you couldn't just use a generic fir tree clip with a bigger head and just file the head down in to a vaguely similar shape to the original clips.

Miles's solution is a very good alternative to stock. Cheap, too!

Thanks for the replies gents.

Peugeot charge £25 + VAT for the arch kit and £17 + VAT for the bumper kit.

i need to fit the two front arches and front bumper so I think buying off here as separate items looks to be cheapest option.

Just to make it clear to everyone as well. I don't have any fittings in the arches, no grommets or anything like that in the holes etc.

Will single fir tree clips do the job?

I've just replaced my whole trim, front and back - whole lot - everything, as I've rebuilt the full car

I pm'd you a link to my thread about nylon nuts and it's done the full car for £6, and I had a couple of fir tree clips for the rear arch rearmost fixing point, and front arch rearmost fixing point (lower one).

For the red trim clips that hold the red trim on, I bought a pack of 10 (x2 packs) off ebay for ~£3 posted a set

The only thing like Miles says is the fir tree clips holding the small red trim on on the front arch mouldings, as it's like a little angled-head fir tree clip. If you have a dremel or a file, you could make something very easily

Bumper fixing - rear - I got new rubbers and supports cheap enough new, and used my kit for the bolts (obviously ;))

Bumper fixing - front - My brackets were fubar so I got some of Stu Baker's machined mounts, rubber buffer/hex threaded bits, and again my bumper bolts

It's very daunting at first looking at it all, but it's actually easy to understand once you have it all infront of you on the floor
