Gti6 Wiring/plugs

Recommended Posts

I am just doing wiring and am left with these 5 wires,

1 a grey wire,no number.suspect that i connect to No2?

2 Another grey wire, numbered 123.I intend to connect this to "ignition on live"red wire from brown plug

3 a white wire,no numbers.this wire is connected to white connector in picture and i cant find anything to plug it into so assume its not needed.

4 yellow wire with feint green or blue banding,no number.Seems to be connected to earth so was going to connect to thick green/yellow from brown plug.

5 yellow wire,no number also seems to be connected to earth.Suspect this should be connected as per no4

Does this seem OK?

Also,I cant find a home for the green 3 wire connector and the blue connector in the pix.

Also,is it OK to connect up the red 426 tacho wire to the grey 112b wire for the rev counter now as i havnt done the wiring mod to the gauges.

The engine is a phase 2 VTS and the loom 306GTI6 bought from EBay.

Thanks Rob

Just checked, and wire No1 is connected to terminal No 14 of the big relay.

Should this be live with ignition on? Rob

pin 14 of the double relay is switched ignition live.

white two pin plug in that location is for the AC compressor, the blue two pin plug nearby is the PAS pressure switch, only used if you use the 306 hard high pressure pipe across the front of the engine.

rev counter will not work connected directly unless you have a modified or a rev counter head from a motronic vehicle like a BX, or do the diode box off the coil triggers.

green three wire female plug connects to that male one in the very same picture... its the knock sensor.

Thanks WP,but the green plug in the background is already connected to the green fly lead which goes to the oil level sensor. The knock sensor has 2 pins and is plugged in already, white connector. This leaves the green 3 pin plug with nowhere to go.Rob.

Think the part of the two pin ones that bolts to the engine is white, and three pin ones is black. I might have one if you struggle to find one.
