Standard Spring Rate?

Recommended Posts

Jim

Morning,

I'm thinking of going back to standard springs on the front or getting some springs of the same rating that are 20 to 25mm) lower.

By doing a search, I found a post with someone saying they thought the standard spring rate was approx.120lb.

Can anyone confirm the standard spring rate?

Cheers

Jim

More like 90-100lb. I very much doubt higher as I think then Eibach springs would be softer than standard...

I think the post was made by you Kev but there is another topic here that links onto another which also suggests 90lbs for the standard GTI springs.

Thanks for your replies and for the link Graham.

After some more reading, I am thinking I might try some Faulkner 305mm, 100lb springs to hopefully end up with an approx. 20 - 25mm drop over standard & slightly stiffer along with some Bilstein B4 shocks.

Do you think this would acheive a 20 - 25mm drop.

Cheers

Jim
