Mate of a mate just picked his 306 up from Lynx after a full drive in drive out LBSC conversion, chucked a rod out the block the next day. Gutted! Royal purple oil all over the bypass.

Was chatting to a guy at Llandow a month or so ago with what seems to be the owner of that 306 ash, he said he was booked in for the work. Bit of a gutter that happening, and a few quids worth of oil!

Yeah Adam. He took it there to have it professionally done too. He's a mechanic by trade so plenty confident enough. Now he's guna have to drop another lump in which I guess he'll do himself...

Yeah afaik. Just gutting as obviously spent the money for a 'pro conversion' now has to pull it all apart. Might as well of done it himself in hindsight.

How many miles did the engine have on it?

No idea I'm afraid. I'm not trying to say it was Lynx's fault btw. I guess it could of happened at any time, maybe pushing an extra 100hp through a standard bottom end brought it forward.

No idea if it was a spun shell, det causing a seized piston or what. All I know is it's got a hole in the block.

Ah well, it's not great but guess another lump isn't too bad. Shoving all that extra power into an old engine could cause trouble!

A friend has Xsara VTS XU10J4RS founded ITB and really sharp camshafts under hydro and every day turns it into 8500 and even 9000 without any problems.

Don't see the point of that oil, mine reved to 7800 all day long on track and road pro s oil used each time

Mine had a stand in modified ex manifold , my bulk head was cut

Engine sat at normal angle not altered

Gutting ash, unless it was a brand new 306 engine , not really their fault, just unlucky
