205 Cti Front Brake Hose Query

Recommended Posts

CaptainP

Hi all,

Yesterday I replaced the front flexi hoses on the CTI, I'm a little concerned as the hoses I took off look different and have a protective spring around them. The box they came in clearly said 205 CTI and I can see on eBay sellers listed both types for the CTI. Can anyone confirm if these will be okay to continue to use?

Thanks

Steve

If they are the same length and fittings and fit the car correctly I would be happy.

If you like you could wind the spring off the old hoses and fit to the new ones?

The spring stops the pipe expanding and rubbing against anything causing wear youd be wise to transfer it over as tom says but its not necessary as it has a bung to hold it into the clamp at the bottom of the strut.

The left hose is for base model type struts/suspension and the right hose is for GTi type struts/suspension.

You'll need the type that matches what was removed.

I wouldn't trust any compatibility information listed by eBay btw as it's usually hopelessly wrong.
