Wishbone Poly Bushes: Which Brands Fit First Time?

I am trying to find out which brands of poly wishbone bushes fit without a faff! Previously tried some that were so tight they "bulged" after fitting and wouldn't go into the subframe.

 

They are for my rally car, so longevity is not really a concern, and before anyone says use the OE bushes, one of them is now NFP.

The Rally Design Polysport/Polyrace ones fit very snugly into the subframe - I don't recall them bulging as such but they can be a pig to get in without adding a small chamfer to the edge to help guide it in.

 

Not tried them under competition/rallying conditions, but they seem to last very well under road and occasional trackday usage for what it's worth - something which isn't the case with some other brands of polybush seemingly.

Pete, buy the hardest ones you can find, if you need to trim them to fit then so be it. Some I have seen are bloddy awful, simply because they are so soft. Compare to the Peugeot bushes, which are very stiff really with the small amount of rubber and the metal sleeve moulded in.

I know Tom, but it's the pattern part lottery with the OE style bushes now.

 

Out of interest, what would solid bushes be like???

Look at the wishbone, the pivots are not on the same axis, hence with totally solid bushes the arm wouldn't be free to move properly.

Been out in it today. Exhaust is banging the satch shift when I come off the power. Think it needs some more brackets.

 

Mira is done and dusted. Thinking maybe Anglesey 21st June. Camp over night before.

Don't like the Armco at MIRA! Or the shaft snapping!

 

Hopefully Colin's shafts will do the job. 406 joints apparently too. No doubt the torque will find something else to break!

Whilst your solution is a good one WP, I just ordered some vibra technics comp mounts off Miles. Apparently a fair bit stiffer than the Bbm gp n ones.

 

Also thinking about adding a torque bush on the diff housing, like the 106 boys use when converting to be3, but linking to subframe.

Don't hit it.

 

It was excellent there for the D'Isis end of last month - didn't realise the Visa would do 130mph (at the end of the long straight into 9L care armco care huge concrete block on exit ...)

Same place in fact as a mate backed his 205 in a few years ago going the other way - which ended up all brown & crispy - which gets us back to my initial comment ... It's a great venue but one or two places need to be treated with respect.

It's done well with the torque so far 1 shaft in how many events? Look at that awful astra he is always snapping his million pound shafts
