1St Gear Close To 3Rd

Changed the gear rods and quadrant bushes and welded the metal part of the quadrant as it had play

And also tightened up the subframe bolt

 

A millions times better but 1st is really close to 3rd

 

Sometimes I mistake 3rd for 1st

 

Is there an adjustment to sort this?

Nope.

 

The linkages purely set the position of the gearstick not how far it goes, you can adjust them all you like but it wont affect the distance between the gears, that's all to do with the levers the rods act upon and the levers acting upon the rods.

 

Does it have some kind of extended gearstick or short shift attached to it?

no its completely standard

 

its not an issue its just when selecting its easy to get third

 

will get used to it more when i use it on the road

 

its up for bodywork soon, having a complete respray and wheels are coming back next week from the refurbers

 

will put picks up when its done
