Gti-6 Conversion.... List Of All Parts Required

Recommended Posts

Fearon

About to do the GTi-6 conversion to a 205.

Im picking up:

Engine,

Loom

all ancileries

brakes

rear beam (to take trailing arms off and put on to a 309 beam, and calipers)

What other bits will i require for the conversion, as i dont want to strat then have to wait for bits to turn up...

Ive found a 205 PAS kit, and i would prefer PAS on the vehicle as i plan on a supercharger in the winter. I also want a 309 front setup, but would this mean the 205 pas would be redundent upon 309 front conversion?

Many Thanks

re-angled exhaust manifold and matching downpipe, bbm hose kit.

1.9 mi16/bx16v clutch.

s16 type dual vss/speedo drive.

309 wishbone conversion affects the steering rack only insofar as the track rod ends need winding out about ten mm per side to compensate for the ten mm extra track width from the longer wishbones.

you dont need anything from a 205 pas kit other than the rack itself, you can use 306 bits for the whole lot, pipes pump and reservoir.

p.s, just use 309 wishbones, leave the 309 beams to the 309's, 205 doesnt need more rear track.

Don't think you can use the oe pas pump on a supercharged Gti6 in a 205 it hits the radiator when relocated

I may stand to be corrected on that though

Think you want to get some engine mount(s) also.

TStat adapter to a 205 rad to stat pipe

Decide what pipes your gonna use, you don't need the silicon kit if you have normal 205 pipes and 306 matrix pipes ( and a B&Q T-piece).

Driveshaft seals

Oil

Gbox oil

clutch cable?

Gbox bushes?

induction kit?

soldering iron?

decent tools? spanner set, socket set, torq set

Loctite

coolant

brake flexi's

brake fluid

brake master cylinder (23mm)

there's probably more..............

Most important thing you will need is patience! It's an easy enough conversion but certain parts of it can be pain in the ass, even the wiring is simple if you follow the guide on here. I supercharged mine about 18 months ago and again not difficult, main problem I found was the routing of the pipe work for the intercooler and keeping the front end standard, with a radiator, oil cooler (2 oil coolers if you fit one for the engine) and an intercooler, there ain't a lot of room left, PAS will be a ball ache to also squeeze in but anything is possible with perseverance. I presume you have at least some previous mechanical skills?

306 PAS pipes, Pump fit's without any hassle, You will need a 205 rack and UJ thou. the SC comes with a relocation kit that bolts onto the old A/C fittings and use's a olive join,

Soldering is never a good idea, Crimp's are the best way and why you never see OE looms soldered ]

Battery box as well, neat way to house battery and ECU, saves the latter being cable tied up

Top hose, you can use a 406 top hose which fit's very well and being longer you can fit a decent filter on the TB, Manifolds and D/P's I have in stock
