Adjustment Of The Afm ?

Recommended Posts

idoari

Hi,

i recently finish my restoation but every time i try to start the car it is not starting. the car cranks alright and the fuel pump works but the car just wont start.

i did a little investagation and it turn out to be a problem with the the AFM. the arm inside is stuck on the zero mark and when i move it by hand the car starts.

i did open the AFM and cleaned the carbon track inside. is there is a way to stop the arm from turning all the way to zero (maybe by adjusting the cog inside that keeps the arm spring tention?!)

please help

Ido

Ideally you want to never touch the cog which sets spring tension. The wiper arm itself can be adjusted by loosening the screw on the arm.

If you do adjust spring tension, mark with tipex before you move it.

If you do a search on Google there is a guide to moving the arm position in cases where the track worn, I think it may mention about the spring as well.
