Tonight, channel 4, 8pm. Tonight it's the 205 and Mk1 golf gti's. The Aston episode was great.

I don't think this series is as good as series 1.

Still it's better than anything else on TV.

Is it me or does Phil glenister feel that's it's necessary to act the hard man in this programme?

Keep the hard man act act to fictional TV shows

I dont think this particular episode was about the restoration, more about hot hatches in general.

They were meant to come to knockhill last year to film but cancelled. Pity as we had better weather than what they ended up with.

He does my head in, makes it borderline unwatchable for me unfortunately.

I was disappointed in this episode, first series was much better. It's a bit too general rather than focusing on that certain car I Find.

Agreed. Bit of a penis.

Otherwise a good episode, with a nice ending.

Would be great if they showed more of the restoration, like when he showed the sill being rotten, then within 2 mins fresh steel was in

I liked it, perhaps as I could relate to the late eighties early nineties very well, especially people setting lap times around the M25. Im not condoning that type of behavior but I woudl be a hypocrite to say I never drove rather quicker than some random numbers on posts at the side of the road!

In some ways it seems a bit like Wheeler Dealers meets A Car is Reborn, with a dash of Top Gear humour. Best of all thet use a wide variety of different cars.

Btw I would have liked to have seen more of the black 309 :(

Such a good programme but I did prefer seeing more of the resto like the first series. Totally agree for the love of cars and car SOS are much better than top gear

Lifted from pistonheads

Hi Guys I hope you don't mind me clarifying a few things. I am Walters partner. It was my Dad who bought the yellow rally car at auction. There was no fix by the TV companies at all. My Dad genuinely went to the auction and bought that car without anyone's proir knowledge.

The reason he did this was because he'd come to realise how much this car had come to mean to Walt and under the circumstances it's something for him to look forward to.

The reason the car was up for sale in the first place was that I didn't want it sitting in the barn for Walt to look at everyday and not be able to do the work.

Walts passion for cars knows no bounds he's been passionate from a teenager and I hope he now gets the time to enjoy it thanks to my lovely Dad..We will keep you all posted...

Can't argue with the story and I nice ending but I find the latest programs have missed the mark A bit. Still better than most mind.

I thought it was good but Phil is getting more annoying. When he got out of the Golf GTI after the lap time he slammed the door really hard! What an inconsiderate prick.

I think a car can cope with a door being slammed, even a classic.

I found it a bit of a disappointment as a show to be honest, not really settling on one thing or another it had no flow or direction.

Haha my 205 can't. Nor can a mk1 Skoda Octavia. I've had windows fall off their runners on both. Just a bit disrespectful IMO

It's nice that she went on and replied to that thread, seems that he really wants to use the golf for what it was built to do

Series 1 was superb, this one's good but not quite as good. Bordering on trying too hard.
