Fitting A Baffled Sump?

Hello,

 

I am currently trying to fit my baffled sump (egg box type) but I am struggling to get it to fit, as in the order to assemble it.

The only way I can currently see to fit it would be to split the oil pump pick up from the oil pump, put the baffle on then re assemble the oil pump. The baffle will not fit over the whole pump and pickup.

 

Is this correct or am I cocking something up?
