Wiring Diagram For Turbo Diesel?

Wonder if anyone can provide such a thing, please?

 

(I have Haynes 205 manual but that seems very much petrol-orientated - also have the Haynes Pug diesel engine manual but that limits itself to engine electrics only - darn it!)

What info do you need?

 

The diesel electrics for the engine are pretty simple iirc, switched feed for the glow plug relay & stop solenoid (which is fed from glow plug relay iirc).

 

All the other electric systems should pretty much match the petrol models afaik so the haynes diagrams should be fine.

I'm particularly interested in connections that feed tachometer, as mine is not working.

The diesel has a flywheel sensor which is very a common failure when they get older. (Its actually the same sensor which sparks the question "what's the brown plug on my rocker cover for?" on the GTI).

 

You'll have a brown three pin plug at the front of the engine (iirc somewhere near the oil filler tower), one end leads down the side to the sensor which sits to the rear of the engine above the flywheel, if you have the cam driven pas pump it's hidden by the bracket for the pump where it bolts to the gearbox.
