Casette Radio - Lights On Nobody At Home :(

Radio decided to give up.. switches on, lights up, can hear white noise coming from the speakers. It can search and find channels but no sound.

Ive disconnected it and reconnected with same results.

Is it a replacement job? - or is there anything I can check?

 

Any input would be appreciated,

The radio is a Blaupunkt Melbourne SQR26 - From research its not an original 205 radio, I believe they were clarion?
