Whilst it's a bit more work, I prefer mounting it over the left rear wheel. Anything to put more weight there is a bonus. In addition, the longer hoses increase capacity and help with dissipation. You only need a 13 row cooler maximum.

This is Colins car, engine and box are canted forwards so I think a slightrly taller can can be fitted than usual, though without the additional turret bracing a similar sized one could sit behind the transmission mounting I would imagine.

Thanks for the info Peter I'm naming on putting it under the bonnet as his was recommended by my engine builder plus it cuts down cost on piping plus the need to have to box in the tank

Mines under the bonnet. Infront of the gearbox on the inner wing.

And yes I crashed the car at 70 into a tyre wall and the tank survived.

I like the idea of more weight in the back.

A tank in the bay is fairly tidy though!

I would have thought behind the box to move the weight. Each to their own.

The tank in this post has potential:

The round to square transition is innovative. You could make it a bit narrower/deeper and still have plenty of volume. The outlet of the tank just needs to be above the pump inlet to ensure in primes. The deeper you make it the less you need to worry about baffling.
