Multi Plug Terminal Availability

Recommended Posts

Long time no post from me but I have got a query. The usual starter/Brown multi plug issue has happened which I have sorted by removing the pins from a spare good loom but the rest look rather gritty so while I'm there I would like to start replacing what I can. Now I was wondering does anyone sell replacement terminals or is it a dealer only part? both the male and female terminals are smaller than the standard 6.3mm that are available from places like beales etc, if they are only dealer does anyone know what sort of prices they go for and is there a minimum order?. Thanks

As far as I know they are dealer only supplied unfortunately and as a result are costly in comparison to other standard items from general auto electrical places. Minimum order are packs of 10 iirc so won't exactly break the bank.

There is a website created by a forum member with part numbers but can't remember exactly what it is. I'll have a look and report back shortly

Link in my signature.

Prices are a bit steep though - 40-80p each for the terminals depending on the size, and most of them come in bags of 10 or 20.

The plastic housings are reusable at least, which is good because new ones are two or three quid each and come in bags of 4 or 5 I think.

Personally I would chop out the standard unsealed multiplug as it just isn't suitable for the job it does. Get a modern sealed plug and once done you won't ever have to revisit it.

I think that will be the way in the future Tom, but you know how it goes get new terminals, then it's hmm may as well build a loom while I'm here ha ha. Thanks for the links btw Ryan and Kane

As said, use a sealed plug instead of the brown multiplug. For connectors where you need to use the Peugeot plugs, the terminals are dealer only and in bags of 20 (for the female spade ones as far as I know). Bought a bag of the standard size ones (6542.19 - 1mm sq.) and they were 47p per terminal...which is obviously very steep but sometimes the only option.
