Mocal Cooler Problems

Hi,

 

I have a problem fitting the sandwich plate to the block of my gti6 engine.

 

I have removed the standard water cooler and fitted the male to male adapter fitting, small threaded end in first..

 

Then i have fitted the sandwich plate and the center bolt but it doesn't tighten up ad the center bolt is about 1mm too long.

 

Any one else had this problem? or am i doing something wrong?

It's odd how you come across these things, A customer thought I was having him on when I said that part was no good (Thanks to Ebay) when he supplied me a engine to install, you just need a bare thread not one with a hex on, I do have these if needed or you can order them from Pug

Use a 20mm conduit through coupler, they cost pence.

A normal 205 one is all you need though they can be a bit of a twat to screw in without ruining the threads

Just had this on my mi16, Miles supplied me with a thread which screws to the block then screwed the sandwich plate to that. Spot on ????????

ahhh i see! so how do you secure the thread into the block?

I used Loctite on mine. Forget the exact grade.

And it bottems out does it?

 

i.e the thread wont screw all the way into the block?

I measured it and fitted it half in, half out equally. They are approx 27mm in overall length.
