Insulation/sound Deadening Recommendations

Hi all

 

Upon removing the carpet from my 205 I found the insulation to be fairly grotty and rotten (fell apart in my hands).

 

I want to replace it best I can, Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a particular brand or product (bearing in mind the thickness so the carpet fits back as it should)?

 

Also, does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to cut the insulation accordingly to fit (as mine fell apart I was unable to use as a template)?

depends if you want car specific stuff. i used foam underlay from carpet right, cheap and does the job.

I used flashing tape from my local builders merchants for sound deadening, adhesive on one side, works a treat.

I was thinking about using this as I'm buying a load of stuff of there anyway so I thought id try it as it's cheaper than dynamat
