Gti6 Spray Bars

Hello All,

 

I've just removed the camshaft covers from my GTI6 engine and discovered that there is no spray bar end cap on the exhaust cam at the clutch end.

 

I can't see anything that's fallen off inside the cylinder head, so should there be an end cap there? If so, is it okay to leave it as is or do I need to find something to replace it?

These tend to crack, I've found numerous. I assume it's cracked all the way through and fallen down or if someone has been in there before removed it.

I seem to remember these are very expensive from the dealer
