Non-Ovaled Hubs?

Recommended Posts

hadders

Photos below of my lower ball joint holes on the bearing carriers. From what I've read on here, these would appear to be okay and not ovaled. Could anyone confirm this. The gap is about 3-5mm on each carrier.

Many thanks.

Ben

They look fine to me. Even if they were ovalled you can send them to Bridgecraft Engineering, there is a limit to what's repairable though.

Edit: Here's a couple of handy links for reference:

You can't really tell by the pictures IMO, you need to stick a 16mm pin/drill bit in it ideally or the end of the ball joints.

Thanks guys.

Alan - if I check them with a 16mm drill bit and they are not perfect what would the cost be to sort them out?

It's £40 per hub by to repair them.

That's an extreme example in that link! They'd be unrepairable when they've stretched that much.

They go oval with general use and often aren't stretched like the ones in the first pic in the link hence why I say to try a pin in the first 10mm or so of the hole ;)
