Injector Firing Order

Recommended Posts

eastlondonpug

Hi

I am trying to identify whether swapping injector wires 1 with 2 ; and 3 with 4 would make a difference in engine running.

It seems that when rebuilding my head, I might have wrongly swapped these as above. I have only found out since I have been comparing some before and after pictures of my engine rebuild and they are definitely swapped over as my injector connectors are colour coded. 2 are green and 2 are black (from another loom).

From what I understand, Mi16 engines fire the injectors semi sequentially i.e. 2 at a time.

Can someone please confirm if there is an easy way of checking what goes where?

Thank you

1.9 Mi16s batch fire, i.e. all at the same time.

If you follow the wiring back along the loom you'll find they are all joined together.

Agree with the above statement re: 1905cc Mi16, but the later iron block 1998cc "Mi16" engine aka the 306 S16 has a cam sensor and is I think semi-sequential.

Thank you

I have the 1.9 mi16 so happy to know that the wiring will not make a difference.

Batch or multi-point? I thought the term batch meant "in batches" or groups. ie 1-3 and 2-4

in any case, 1.9L fire simultaneously

I thought 2L was full sequential ie 1,3,2,4

yup, full sequential injection and spark with mp3.2 on the 2.0.

multi point means more than one injector, I.e not spi - single injector in a throttle body, a modernised carb

You might think that, but you're wrong. My software has options for all. Can you read the column on the side?

Yes, it's the only Aussie brand that lowers itself for other markets. Motec and Autronic are sequential only. Never has been an option.
