Be2 Gearbox Helix Paddle Clutch Help?

Recommended Posts

MrMemzi

Hi guys, due to ill health I've really been off of the 205 scene for a couple years. Now im gradually getting back on my feet I REALLY need help. Can a 106gti engine be mated onto the Be2 gearbox? Reason why I bought a Helix paddle clutch but Ideally I want more power. If not what other engine could be mated to it? Is anyone in Essex available to give me a hand also when needed? Many thanks

Mehmet

be2 is not a peugeot gearbox.

you need a be4 gearbox with the appropriate bellhousing, theres about half a dozen different types at least, as they were also used on the xu, xud, ew, dw, dv, ep as well as the tu engine.

changing the gearbox wont give you any more power?!

Sorry I may not have been very clear. I wanted to know what Engine would attach to what I thought was a Be2 gearbox. Its on a E reg 1.6gti. Excuse my lack of memory like I say its been a while!

e reg would be 87/88 so if it has its original box itll have a be1 gearbox, reverse next to first.

its an xu engine, so any other xu engine will bolt to it

Your right its a Be1 sorry for any confusion. I don't know where I got Be2 from.

There was a guy up my way called Baz but he seems to of disappeared. He was helpful guy but hes no longer on here.

It seems most of the Xu engines nearer to me are over priced or need rebuilding.

Thank you for the quick replies I really appreciate it!
