Mi16 Engine

i have a mi16 engine which i took out of a 405 some years ago. Im putting it in my 205 dimma (kitted) now should i rebuild it before putting in or should it be ok just to put in as is as it was working fine when taken out and stored in garage ?????

Rebuild it, especially if it's been sat for long, it'll need a new head gasket minimum imo.

If it was working fine just use it as is. You will never rebuild it as good as it came from the factory unless you pay a professional to do it and even then it's hit and miss. And I do mean a professional that will take his time with every single measurment and check, not just replacing shells rings and Lego-ing it back together.

 

The best engine I ever had was an Mi16 that had been sat in dry storage for 10 years and ran flawlessly until I surged it and spun a shell.

would have been due a rebuild when you took it out of the 405 unless you've had it out for that long, in which case it'll need at least gaskets by now anyway.

somewhere that sells gaskets and seals :D

 

I just use my local engine remanufacturers.

Liners you cannot get anymore but 8v ones are fine to use, I always try and use Payen gaskets and seals, cheaper parts can give issues
