New Wheel Pics, Front Suspension

Recommended Posts

blackiepaul

Hi all,

I bought some speedline alloys when I was looking for my 205 and have had them in boxes ever since. I had some tyres fitted to them last week and today I put them on to the car.

I had not really noticed it before but the cars suspension looks very high at the front. I thought this might have been from jacking it up etc but it has not dropped back down and from looking at old photos the front is high.

Looking at the stance of other owners cars, have you changed the susupension, springs, both?

Any help / advice appreciated.

Pics of the car below (please escuse how dirty the car is in the first pic, I have had it in storgage for the last six months.

Thanks

Paul......

It actually looks as though the rear suspension has been lowered slightly and the front is standard?

Them rear tyres look way too big for the car?

Looks about standard suspension wise to me - they always look a little high at the front as standard.

The SL434's in that colour really suit white GTi's in my opinion and unlike most non-standard wheels, actually work quite well at standard height.

Oh, and looks like a lovely clean example :)

Again, looks standard-ish to me - the difference in appearance is down to the different shape of the rear arch making the rear of the car look lower than it is compared to the front. If you look at the red strip along the side of the car and where it intersects with the tyres, you can see that the rear is actually slightly higher than the front, as it should be.

Suspension is totally standard as far as I know (same as the rest of the car). The tyres are the same front and back, the size is what was recommended on here from other drivers with the same wheels.

I will post up a pic of the car up straight on from the side. The front is higher than the rear, I do not think the pics are showing it right. Yes a clean example, the car belonged to the wife of Peugeot main dealer and it was looked after really well.

Thanks for your response.

Nice, i was thinking of raising mine to in between where it is now and standard.

Mines has Eibach -30mm lowering springs on the front and the rear beam has been adjusted to lower it. It has crossed my mind the rear is a smidgen low, but it handles well so i've never bothered doing anything about it yet. It has a gti6 engine so maybe sits a little bit lower than it would with a standard engine using the same springs (Also has Bilsteins all round and GrpN and A mounts etc.)

The pic should give you a good idea of how it sits with the bits mentioned above fitted.

Hi all,

I took the car to Pug1off about a month ago and they sorted the tickover. The car went back on Monday and I picked it up today with news suspension all round and couple of other niggles sorted. Alot more happy with its news stance as well as the way it drives.
