Original 8V Down Pipe

Has anybody a genuine down pipe to hand, I need to know how far down the pipe the divide goes (the 2 into 1 section), and if it starts at the top of the pipe or just down from the top. I want to replicate it on a pattern pipe by splitting it and welding a piece in.

I've got a downpipe from an early 3-piece system. I shortened it for an Mi16, but I can take all the photos/measurements you like.

I've just had a look at mine. It starts 20mm down from the top but it isn't possible to measure how far down it goes because it follows the bend in the pipe and goes further than you can see.

What about sticking a tape measure down it, or a piece of wire? It must finish where the pipe straightens up. I just need to know where it roughly goes to to get an idea of length. Thanks Ryan.

Does the diameter of the pipe decrease after the radius/bend if it does that would indicate it ends there I would imagine.

I've just put a tape measure down it ( and then spent half an hour trying to get it back out) and it measured 21". That is at the point where it starts to narrow, as you suggested.
