Brake Disc & Pad Change.....

Recommended Posts

bunji

Hello, it's been a ruddy long time since I have done anything on a forum like this one.

I still have my 205 it's been SORN for 2yrs now, however I want to put her back on the road.

As the topic states.. brake disc/pad change. I have a couple questions so be patient with me if I drivel on.

I did have vented & grooved discs with EBC green stuff pads, they have been binned off.

I did some looking on line and bought some Brembo Max discs and Brembo pads.

I changed the discs after fighting with the retaining screw, popped in the new pads and then thought... why is there a gap at the back(inner most) side of the caliper?

The discs are solid not vented.

Now, here's the question.... on my 92' J plate 1.6 GTi - will they be ok?

Upon pressing the brake pedal a couple times it closed the gap at the back. Will I need to get vented discs?

Everything went back together as it should, pads, clips, retaining bar and pins.

Looking for a little advice, help and guidance please. :)
