Be1 Clutch Problems

Recommended Posts

Terry1600

My clutch started becoming very heavy up to the point that a brand new cable lasted only a week. ive bought a new cable and even on its max thread it still wont engage the clutch properly. ive taken a look at the linkage and the pin seems to be at an unusual angle to wheat i remember it looking like when i changed the clutch cable last year.

can anybody shine some light on this? i dont really want to remove the box to find im using the wrong cable ect.

regards. Terry

Also check the arm sticking out of the gearbox is still tightly attached via its ball joint, I've had one of those come off before, they are only riveted on IIRC.

clutch is solid as a rock and i can move the fork around like theres no release bearing on it, seems like the bearing has worn through the pressure plate and is stuck in it. ill take box off tomorrow and have a look, cheers

Just an update for anybody else, it turned out the pressure plate had lost all of its spring pressure and was useless. cheer
