Oil Pump Guide?

Recommended Posts

benny205mi16

Hello,

I am currently rebuild my 1.9 mi16 engine.

I did not strip the engine as I bought it as a basket case.

Just about to re-fit the oil pump and the block and pump look as if a "guide" should be fitted where the oil flows from the pump to the block?

Is this correct or not?

I have the shim but that's it.

The best way I can describe what I think may belong there is something like the 2 guides for the head to block.

Just worried that with just metal faces butted oil could be escaping before pumped to the head.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for any help

Ben

there's no dowel on them no, just a metal to metal join, one of the bolts has a shank to it.

Thank you, that's made me feel better.

I'll carry on with the re-build
