Brushable Stonechip/chassis Coat

Recommended Posts

cheesegrater

Hi all I'm looking to buy some brushable stonechip/chassis paint to do the underside of my 205 with, it will have a top coat aswell if needed. I think I've found what I'm looking for but I'd like some opinions. Currently I'm torn between por15 rust prevention and eastwood rubberised rust encapsulator. Is there anything else out there that would better suit my requirements?

I used a brush on 2 pack epoxy primer then Gravitex rubberised shultz, then over the top with body colour. Depends what finish you are wanting to achieve.

Not overly fussed about finish just after something that will last. I've heard good things about the gravitex stuff, how easy is it to apply schutz for a complete spray novice?

Piece of piss, it's quite viscous consistency so no danger of making it run if you put it on too thickly. Just blather it on and you easily get the orange peel effect as per the sills from the factory. You will need a Shultz gun they are only cheap and some thinners to wash the gun out afterwards.

I've recently used Jotun jotamastic 87 on the underside of my 205 and it seems to do the job very well. When set its extemely elastic so should not have any problems with stones eventually creating cracks in the paint.

Comes in 5 litre tins including hardener, oh and its designed for use in the marine industry so should work well even in the British climate.

I've used it as a brush on and diluted with thinners to use in a spray gun and both work well. If spraying make sure you've got an air Fed mask as its got some dodgy chemicals in it

Did u get a flexi pipe to spray upwards, not 100% sure but i think u might need one to be able to use the bottom of the paint cans.
