Hi guys im looking to put 309 gti bottom arms on my 1.9td 205. Ive fitted the gti subframe question is do I need a 309 arb? Also do I need longer shafts or can I get away with using standard 1.8 derv/gti shafts ? Any help would be great

You don't need the 309 roll bar, it can be fitted obviously, although I wouldn't recommend it if your running a standard rear arb you need an uprated item (23-24mm) to balance things out.

Personally i have always fitted 309 driveshafts, many people haven't and have not run into problems, but others have so it's up to you. But 309 shafts are longer for a reason.... The only other thing you need to do is get your tracking done as you will have massive amounts of toe out.

Great cheers I will change to 309 shafts eventually just wondered if I could use 205 shafts as a temporary measure

I run 205 shafts and 309 wishbones no problems.

Mines had 205 shafts in and done loads of miles so you'll be ok but I had a set of 309 shafts thrown in when I bought mine so I'm bound to fit them one day

You might get away with 205 shafts, you might not. There are plenty of people who do, but also equally plenty of people who do not. I think some aftermarket shafts arent quite as forgiving and more cheaply made.
