Gti6 Fuel Rail On 1.9 Mi16

Hello!

 

Hopefully a pretty simple one this...

 

Will a gti-6 fuel rail fit and function correctly on a standard 1.9 mi16 engine as a straight swap?

Do you know why it doesn't? Iv tried to compare the two using online photos. They both use a 3 bar FPR so that isn't an issue and I believe the injectors are the same physical size so the mi yellows could be fitted to the gti6 rail with no issues.

 

The only question is regarding the mounting position on the inlet manifold.

 

The reason I am looking to change is the gti6 rail runs both hoses out of the cambelt end with a smaller FPR so would look a bit tidier than the mi16 rail

Ive done it the other way around with no issues if thats of any help.

The injectors have the same spacing but not the mounting bolt holes.

easy enough to adapt it, cut and weld the brackets on in the appropriate position.
