It is only 0.5 bar IIRC, though I think there might be a small overboost function on the 2.0T a bit like the 405 T16. Not 100% sure as it is a while since I have had a look.

I've seen 0.65 bar before. But I think it varies slightly between 406/Xantia engines and XM/605 engines, as does the compression ratio.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Ive just read on a random forum it runs at 9psi  Im definately taking that with a pinch of salt

Although the same guy, in the same long post actually, mentions that the bog standard turbo will last a couple of months tops if its pushed any more than standard psi

and that it heats up the coolant dramatically faster than it already dramatically heats up normally.

9 PSI is about 0.62 bar so that's probably about right.

I ran one at about 13-14 PSI in an XM for about a year! In the end the rest of the car fell apart but the engine and turbo were still fine.

Aye they are good strong engines and underated in the luxury barges.

At 13-14 psi was the difference dramatic from bog standard? Any massive heat rises at that?

Subjectively it felt about the same as a 3.0 V6 XM so it was a pretty big difference. Coolant temps were no different, inlet temps I have no idea but the XM does have a massive radiator and intercooler.
