Brush On Rust Converter

Recommended Posts

artois7

Hi all,

Have searched and can't find exactly what I'm after.

I need a brush on type rust converter to address the surface rust on my boot floor. I've spent far too long with a drill and wire brushes and am getting nowhere with it, so intend to use a converter type product and them hammerite over it.

All my research has lead me to products that you need to submerge the metal in instead of brushing it on. Can you recommend any of these types?

Ideally would be something I can go and buy rather than ordering online, but Kurust seems to be the only option at Halfords?

Bilt Hamber Hydrate gel is probably best. But please don't use Hammerite it's crap. Etch primer first then some kind of 2 pack epoxy paint.

Deox also do a brush on gel, you can watch it reacting with the rust it's amazing stuff!

£15 for about 1/2 a litre is the best I found it on eBay.

Another Bilt Hamber fan here, Hydrate 80 is fantastic, goes on Blue, turns black when cured.

I have found Jenolite to be effective.
