Shortened Inlet

Recommended Posts

Anyone had any experience with shortened inlet manifolds on an xu10? Just thought it might give me a bit of room if I got 30-40mm chopped of my inlet manifold and tig'd it back up. Won't cost much just thought it will effect performance so wondered if anyone has run one before, I'm sure I saw a 306 running a really short inlet a few yrs back

not needed on an XU10, if needed with the XU9 you can lower the radiator for clearance which is much easier to do, you'll lose a noticeable amount of mid range torque by shortening the inlet.

Cheers, thought as much as I know inlet lengths are crucial. Was just curious if there was any tolerance as the engine fit and its not rubbing but only just and been thinking of ways to free up a bit of space
