Sorry if in wrong section anyone know a uk supplier of alloy race rads. On ebay that all seem to be. From China or Holland. Add the dreaded import tax and you feel your trousers have been taken down can anyone help?

Ok I don't think that will do the trick as my cti has a mi 16 convertion using the stAndard length inlet so space is at a premium it only just clears the standard rad so a double thickness one I don't think will fit. But thanks for the info. Peter

I suggest doing your research. Start with a look for a picture of the above mentioned radiator.

'performance' ... always questionable. most engines are easily cooled by a standard radiator. if you have over cooling it'll be more of an issue for you, difficult to diagnose too with the old age sensor and gauge in a 205. I am not sure what you mean by performance either? Did you mean what type of radiator gets rid of heat the most efficiently? if so you need to look into getting a 'black' colour radiator. I wont tell you why, but do some research and you'll find out.

If you want better cooling maybe looking at where your air is going from front to back of the engine bay is a good place to start. I have had a 'standard' radiator fitted to my 205 for the past 6 or 7 months due to a crack in my 'short and fat' bbm rad (which is being repaired), the car runs much much cooler, but my engine air temp has soared from 15-20degrees to 55-65degrees, obviously not ideal.

I don't even know if you have a clue about what you want or even why, but if you struggle to stay warm while moving I'd suggest you're over cooling. if you're staying hot while at a standstill you need a better way of moving air through the radiator efficiently.

I cba spoon feeding you, but maybe you can understand what's been said and you'll know what you need and how to get it.

oh for what it is worth - the gauge on my 205 doesn't quite match up to the info given by dta's hud - myfans kick in at 93 degrees, on my gauge this is 2 lines before the red marker, the marker before this showed as 88 degrees, but 1 line before the red marker showed at 105 degrees...

It's shorter tho, so the inlet has no clearance issues. If your not running itb's then it's not really necessary though as standard rad cools just fine

Buying from Holland - as in the Netherlands - won't have any import tax as it's an EU country.

I suspect that you mean Hong Kong... just a slight difference between the two and really not that easy to muddle up

Ok Antony point taken about duty. My currant rad cools just fine that's a standard 1.9 rad but has developed a slight leak hence a replacement is needed. As I had a all alloy rad that I purchased a few years ago for a 1.9 gti 8v car seemed to run cooler with this fitted but firm now no longer exists. May be performance is the wrong term to use. But just purely asking if anyone knows of a uk based supplier

If you click on the account name; you'll find that the 'netherlands' seller is based in china; so probably same chinese rads, but with local storage in the netherlands.

I went to the ring in the peak of summer did laps did plenty of traffic with a reasonably tuned gti6 engine. and all was well.

Just a nice new standard rad. Oil is what you want to spend the money on keeping low or at a subatsianes temp. That's where you want to spend the money bud.

Standard replacement Nissens alloy rad runs perfectly with this set up.

And a proper oil cooler.

I still have the same rad, tilted and run bodies without an oil cooler and it is fine.

I don't do track days anymore though.
