Sunroof Exterior Trim. Repair Or Replace?

Recommended Posts

stew205

My sunroof trim (especially the front bit) has damage to nearly all the tabs. It stops the trim "pulling down" at the corners and looks a bit unsightly.

I'm interested to know what others have done to solve the problem. Repair or Replace ?? I expect good condition 2nd hand ones are hard to come by....

I've got an idea for a product to sort the problem out, but would just like to hear what others are doing before embarking on it!

Mate if you sort this I'd be first in line for a kit. It's a real niggle in mine that I've yet to sort, the tabs at the rear are missing so the left-hand flaps about at speed..

There used to be quite a lot about as people glued plates on their sunroof for track cars, but I think that fashion has stopped somewhat as there are enought track cars for sale, even non sunroof ones and demand for track 205's has dropped. I think a lot of people just threw them away at the time :(

The clips on most second hand ones are usually broken as they are very hard to remove without snapping. I bought four second hand sets before getting a decent intact set.

New sets are impossible to find.

A kit to sort this would be ideal!

I'd be interested in a method of repairing them too. My two side ones are shot to bits.
