Central Locking Fuse Issue?

Recommended Posts

Mattr5uk

I do apologise I'm being a bit lazy really but I do like to ask the voices of experience first. The problem I have is the fuse for the central locking constantly blows. It's a phase 1.5 88 model.

The central locking has not worked since I've had the car.

Not sure if it shares same fuse but the fuel pump yellow plug into fuse box is removed and a separate fuse fitted for that. The fuel pump will not work with the plug fitted into fuse box.(I have fitted another fuse box)

I have noticed it has a H reg tailgate fitted if that makes any difference?

Iirc the central locking shares the same fuse as interior light which doesn't work however the 'reading light' next to it does.(I have fitted a new bulb)

I'm looking for a dash loom to replace the one I have if anyone's got one to sell that not been butchered?

Tia

Turns out the interior light had been wired incorrectly, I now have a working fuel pump when plugged into fuse box and feed to the drivers central door locking module just no functioning central locking.

Think I had the same sort of problem. The 25 amp fuse would blow and take out the interior light and radio also. This was because there are 2 types of central locking actuators. Grey for phase 1 and 1.5 and black for a phase 2 iirc ? Think that the black one has an extra pin and this causes the fuse to blow. Just double check as it maybe this simple but someone with more superior knowledge may disagree.
